It sure has been one busy year for Brandon since being awarded his Screenmobile home repair franchise, and he’s got some words of wisdom for anyone who is thinking about becoming a Screenmobile Franchise Owner this year. Brandon took time out of his schedule to share some of his insights, highlights, and knowledge that he has gained over his first big year in the window screen repair business.

BRANDON: “Hi, my name’s Brandon Meeks. I run Screenmobile of Gainesville- that’s in North Georgia.”

“The thing I’m most proud of is not working myself to death! This was a new experience, a lot of new things to learn, and I’m just glad that I made it through it. I got through the learning, and I’m just starting to see some real positive results of all that went into that first year crash course.”

“The biggest surprise was seeing the amount of volume I could do in my business just by hiring one person. You multiply what you can do! I hired a Field Technician a few months ago and I saw the volume of my revenues just go up so quickly because I was able to spend more time working with customers, doing the administrative tasks that needed to be done, growing the business- and I’m still able to get out there and do some hands-on field work as well.”

“I have the most fun at work when I’m out there working a job with my Field Tech, Daniel. It’s just nice to share the work with somebody that will talk, cut some jokes, and just enjoy some hands-on work.”

“One of my favorite memories is going to the Screenmobile convention. Just being around all the other franchisees, learning from them, and having a good time together!”

“The advice I would give myself if I could talk to myself a year ago would be this: don’t feel like your have to do everything that everybody wants you to do, when they want you to do it! The biggest thing to be effective is to learn how to use your time well, and so you have to learn to put people on your schedule in some ways. Everything’s not as urgent as it may seem!”

“On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy are you and why? On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say I’m a 9. This franchise has been great for me, it’s been great for my family. I thrive on having a challenge, and as the business has grown, I’m seeing the rewards financially, but also having a good work-to-life balance. I can set the schedule. I can decide how much I’m going to put in. I can put in a whole lot one week and a little the next. So, it’s been great!”
